Abstract

Pituitary abscess is a rare condition; it represent 0.6% of neurosurgical pathologies sellar. Preoperative diagnosis is difficult because there is no characteristic clinical picture. It may be associated with a pre-existing injury pituitary or primary way in a healthy gland. We present the case of a male patient 56 years old with a history of diabetes mellitus and hypertension, who presented with retroocular headache, nausea, vomiting and cavernous sinus syndrome.
