Pott tumor of a multidisciplinary approach

Abstract

A Pott’s puffy tumor is the name given to the frontal subperiosteal abscess in association with frontal bone osteomyelitis. We present the case of a mexican woman that showed up to our hospital with a Pott’s puffy tumor; she presents a history of 1 month of evolution characterized by headache, nasal congestion and rhinorrhea. We described the clinical nuances, established treatment, evolution and conducted a literatura review. The main source of this particular entity is frontal sinusitis. We stress the importance of a team approach between otolaryngologist, neurosurgeon and infectious diseases or internal medicine physician for a successful therapy.
