Abstract

The aim of this paper is highlight the possible relationship between neurofibromatosis type 2, genetic disorder that primarily affects the central nervous system structures, and multiple mononeuropathy, neurological disorder in which affected the peripheral nervous system. We also want to highlight the importance of neurophysiological examinations in the study of these patients. We present the case of a 27 year old woman studied by diplopia, hearing impairment and sensory- motor impairment in left arm and leg. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed lesions suggestive of neurofibromatosis type 2. Neurophysiological studies objectified data from multiple mononeuropathy. There are not many cases in the literature documenting an association between these two disease entities.
